Pop culture and film have characterized sociopaths, or psychopaths, as manipulative murderers and criminals. Harvard psychologist Martha Stout, Ph.D. published the book The Sociopath Next Door in 2006. She reveals 4% of the population meets the criteria for sociopaths. They possess no conscience, feel no guilt, or remorse.
